As the head coach at LCSA, Anita has left an indelible mark on the world of artistic rollerskating, boasting an impressive career that spans over several decades. Since she first laced up her skates in 1983, Anita has competed at the highest levels, showcasing her skills in a multitude of disciplines.
Her competitive journey includes an astounding 21 State Championships, 14 National Championships, 6 Oceanias, and 4 World Championships. Internationally, Anita has graced the stage in solo dance/creative solo dance, precision, and show group competitions. Nationally, she has excelled in figures, dance couples, couples free dance, and mini precision. At the league level, Anita has competed in free skating.
Her achievements are not only numerous but also distinguished, with top-three rankings at the Oceania level in individual events on 2 occasions and a notable 4th-place finish at the World Championships for precision.
Transitioning into coaching in 1996, Anita brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to artistic rollerskating in Australia. Holding an Advanced Level Coaching Accreditation and a World Skate Level 2 Dance Accreditation, she has been a world team coach 4 times and an Oceania team coach 7 times. Since 2012, Anita has served as a high-performance coach for Skate Australia Artistic. Her dedication to continuous learning is evident with additional accreditations in strength and conditioning, along with a master’s degree in exercise science specialising in sports coaching.
On the technical side, Anita’s accomplishments include figures (Level 10), dance (Level 10), solo (Level 10), freeskating bronze medal, loops (Level 2), freedance (Level 1), and precision (Level 2). Her expertise extends to serving as a technical specialist in freeskating and solo dance, a technical controller in dance, and roles as a referee in gold precision, silver dance, and bronze freeskating judging commissions.
